What is the Celtic Cakers all about?

The Celtic Cakers is much more than an award winning cake tutorial book.  It's full of easy, step-by-step, photographed instructions on how to create fun carved cakes, stunning wedding cakes, models and cookies.  Our group, of some of Ireland's top cake designers, came together to produce a range of quirky and beautiful tutorials suitable for all skill levels and varied enough to suit everyone's taste.  It also includes tasty and easy-to-make recipes for cakes and cookies too!

I WAS ENTHRALLED

I have been cake decorating for nearly 10 years. I have bought all the books, seen all the tutorials etc. I didn't really look at it at first, but bought it to support my fellow decorators (none of whom I know personally). However, when I sat down to read the book, I was enthralled. The tutorials are fantastic. I love all the little tips along the way. Truly one one of the best sugarcraft books that I have ever bought. Well done to everyone involved. Lisette

COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN

When I first received the advance copy of the book, I literally spent about two hours just reading it from cover to cover – I genuinely couldn’t put it down and I am not exaggerating when I tell you that it is quite simply breathtaking. They have managed to capture the beauty and the very essence of Ireland and combine it with some truly stunning tutorials from some of the greatest talents their little corner of paradise has to offer. IT'S A CAKING BIBLE

What sets this book apart is that its not just written by one person but a team of experts all with their different styles & wealth of experience from carving cakes, structuring, sophisticated flowers & wedding cakes to modelling - it has the lot! Quite simply its a caking bible! Highly recommend. C. Anderson

A LITTLE FROM COLUMN A.... A LITTLE FROM COLUMN B...

This isn't a book with just one style or method.  We touch on everything from modelling, structure and unusual techniques that will suit all level of 'cakers'.

Beginners

There's something for everyone in this book.  For cakers wanting to start out we have a carved Fox & Chick cake, a realistic Apple Pie (cake) and a modelled Big Brown Bear with modelling chocolate. And don't worry... all of the instructions have step-by-step photos, making things very easy to follow.

Intermediate

For the intermediates wanting to push themselves this book has figure modelling, royal iced cookies, a realistic rabbit cake, a round orange cake who is being peeled (he's none too happy about it) and you can also push into the structured cakes with a standing wooly lamb tutorial.

Advanced

Want to push your cake boundaries more and try some new techniques?  Try your hand at some unusual but beautiful sugar flowers on a sharp edged and lustered cake. How about some Japanese styled multidimensional sugarwork or try a seaside themed wedding cake with gelatine elements on it.
